Maybe the young amateur composer would have remained with the railwayman if there were not a meeting with the famous Belarusian musician, People's Artist of the USSR, Professor of the Belarusian Conservatory Joseph Zhinovich, who, having heard Glebov’s first works, advised him to enter the preparatory department of the Belarusian Conservatory.

He became a student of the Belarusian State Conservatory of the Faculty of Composer in the class of professor, People's Artist of the USSR Anatoly Bogatyrev also a native of Smolensk region. It was difficult for a student who did not have sufficient musical training, but thanks to hard work, perseverance and determination, Eugene became one of the best students of the conservatory.
