His mother Ekaterina Ivanovna was from a peasant family, worked at the factory, but she was a very strong -willed woman. By the way, they named the future governor in honor of Nizhny Novgorod, pilot Valery Chkalov.

The fact that he would once lead his native region, Valery Pavlinovich, then could not even imagine. We lived in a hut from two hundred families of Valery Pavlinovich’s childhood rich in any way. At first, the family lived in a hut, in which there were another hundred families. Fortunately, we did not have this. Father simply explained what can be done and what is impossible.

And at the same time he always forced to study: “I failed - so life has developed. And you learn - this is your main duty. He conquered his wife with solving the problem with his future wife - Tatyana Vladimirovna - Valery Shantsev met at the aviation college. All his life he worked for the apartment at that time to acquire his own housing was unrealistic, so the young people lived with Valery Pavlinovich’s parents at first in the same room with his grandmother.

And when Tatyana went on maternity leave, they moved to the parental cottage in Saltykovka. There they had to wear water from the well, drown the stove and huddle in a tiny room. Soon, the daughter of Svetlana was born. At first he went to the factory - received one -room. There were three of us then, and we were happy, ”said Valery Shantsev. In one room it became crowded - I went to work for a three -room apartment.

Lost in a salary, in career growth, but received an apartment. Valery Pavlinovich began his first work as an assistant to the master for a long time - he began at the Moscow Radio Salute as an assistant master. At this work, he showed himself so much that in a few years he rose to the senior engineer-technologist. At the same time, he took up active party activities.

From the years, he was elected deputy of the Moscow City Council. Unfortunately, it was also clear that the then power had no potential and technology for such modernization. Luzhkov’s right hand, even after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Valery Pavlinovich for a long time remained faithful to the Communist Party. Even having become the commercial director of the Dynamo hockey club, he did not leave politics, but took up the revival of the Russian Communist Party.

In the year, he became a member of the Moscow government and the prefect of the Southern Administrative District. Since then, his name has been closely connected with the odious mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov. During the election campaign, an attempt was made on him. An explosive device was blown up next to his entrance - a gram of TNT. The recovery took three months at the Sklifosovsky Institute.

And all this time he was supported by Yuri Luzhkov. He was at my hospital bed every day.
