In June, in the area of the village of Shali, superior militants pushed out a group of scouts of 16 fighters on a minefield, three of them were seriously injured from the undermining. When the commander of the helicopter squadron S. Palagin, under the enemy shelling, arrived at the battlefield, he discovered that the group was in the forest.
The commander decided to decline, breaking the branches of trees with the fuselage of the helicopter. All scouts were taken on board and evacuated. He lived in the city of Krasnodar. Actively engaged in public and patriotic and educational work. He was the deputy chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Organization of Heroes of the Fatherland, a member of the regional council of the Public Organization "Battle Brotherhood", and the military foreman of the Kuban Cossack army.
