In the light, the dilogy “For the Just Delivee” saw, and at the end of X the book “Life and Fate” appeared, on which the author worked for almost ten years.

In the novel about the horrors of the war, the writer describes not only the confrontation of the two states, but also human feelings for the enemy that arise under the pressure of power. In one episode, Grossman tells how the Nazis surrounded by Stalingrad themselves fall into the position of Soviet people, whom they considered second -grade people.

Half -starved, frozen Germans were struck by the act of a simple Russian woman who shared a piece of bread with them. Not everyone liked a similar artistic move. Despite the fact that the book was published after the death of the leader, the authorities saw in it the criticism of the Stalin regime and anti -Soviet propaganda. At the beginning of X Vasily Solomonovich, a search was carried out, during which all the manuscripts were seized and placed in the KGB archives.

Together with the novel, the achievements for the “Book flowing” were confiscated, which described the fate of the former prisoner who passed the Stalin camps.
